MONROE: Lighting contest winners went above and beyond

David Kilby, Managing Editor MONROE — The Monroe Board of Recreation gave out its awards for its Holiday House Decorating Contest at its meeting Tuesday, and the two most recognized winners, if combined, had a total of 115,000 lights, most of which were synchronized to music, as well as cut out displays, train sets, and an opportunity to donate to local charities.

Vandals stepping up damage totals in Duncan neighborhood

Dozens of homes in the Timber Creek housing addition in Duncan have been vandalized since November 2011.  Police say it started with smashed Christmas lights and damaged holiday decorations and even mailboxes.  But now, the vandals are targeting high-dollar vanity and security lights.

Needham Police: Vandalism on Carey Road

Police responded to Carey Road on Jan. 4 at approximately 11:40 a.m. for reports that someone had cut the wires to Christmas lights that were on display in front of one of the houses, according to reports.
